As we head toward the end of 2018, I want take a pause to reflect on some past successes, as well as inform you about some exciting new things happing at Lauren Figueroa Interior Design. This September, we began our 4th year in business - WHAHOO! - and we've seen tremendous growth and community support in this short amount of time.
Since our start in 2015, we've had the honor of participating in several noteworthy opportunities, a few of which we want to highlight and celebrate here:
Coverings IDS
In April 2017, we were invited to act as lead designer for one of three teams participating in the Coverings Installation Design Showcase in Orlando Florida - the only Michigan design firm to do so - where we partnered with West Michigan installers Welch Tile & Marble to design and build a tile tiny house over the course of the three day show. The house was highlighted on several media platforms and is now available to book as a short term vacation rental in just outside Orlando.
Cersaie
Last September we were invited to travel to Bologna, Italy to attend international trade show Cersaie as a part of a cohort of leading design & architect firms from across North America. While there, we had the opportunity to gain exposure to international tile and design trends, as well as network with leading industry professionals from the US and Canada. It was an unforgettable opportunity, and we were honored to be the sole firm representing Michigan on this trip.
Showspan Headliner
We've been invited for the second year in a row to appear as a Seminar Stage Headliner and participate in the Designer Showcase at Showspan's West Michigan Remodeling and New Homes Show this coming January. We'll be partnering up with Klingman's Furniture & Design, as well as local specialty houseplant boutique, Peace & Toil. We're currently in the process of designing this years space, and you can see last year's installation here. Mark your calendars for January 11-13!
What's New Moving Forward
As we recount these accomplishments, we're excited to announce that we are expanding our area of service. While we continue to serve our community in West Michigan, one of our key focuses will be expanding our client base across central and southeast Michigan, as well as out of state and internationally.
Starting January of 2019, we will narrow our focus to full-service design (turn-key projects where we oversee the design process start to finish). As we take on larger projects, we will have less capacity to offer client-executed design plans or e-design, though we will continue to provide one time consultations for those who desire minor design direction.
These exciting new changes come with some amendments to our process and pricing, so please see our updated Process Page as well as our newly created FAQ Page for this information.
